The above diagrams are comparisons of
all injection machine types. Each interval
represents two scores, and total is ten.
The higher the score is, the overall machine
efficiency the better. |
|
|
- For energy
saving efficiency, the all-electric machine
has better performance (energy saving: 60 -
80%) than ASR servo system (50 - 70%), however,
ASR servo system has higher overall total score
of 74 points, while all-electric machine has
only 62 points. Therefore, although ASR servo
system has only 9 points on energy saving while
all-electric machine has 10, the all-electric
still performs much better than AST servo system.
The traditional hydraulic injection molding
machine is the worst on the energy saving, thus,
one must make smart choice to reduce the energy
loss to increase the profit margin.
- For machine
life, all-electric machine uses ball
bearing screw driven type and would not last
longer after a few years, which is also very
expensive comparing to the ASR servo system
and traditional hydraulic machine that usually
last for over ten years.
- For cost
value, traditional hydraulic machine
has the lowest cost, and the all-electric machine
has the highest cost. ASR servo system machine
is in the middle.
- For pressure
holding control, when holding the pressure,
traditional hydraulic machine uses fixed pump
and only need to exile extra hydraulic oil,
which is better than all-electric machine and
ASR servo system. All-electric machine needs
to have stronger servo motor in order to have
larger pressure holding, therefore, the ASR
servo system will be the better choice comparing
to all-electric machine for producing thick
wall items.
- For maintenance
charge, the traditional hydraulic machine
and ASR servo system only cost little, while
the al electric machine costs much higher.
- For stability
operation, since all-electric machine
and ASR servo system use hydraulic circuit feedback
controlling system, they have better stability
operation comparing to the traditional hydraulic
machine.
- For operation
noise, ASR servo system is louder than
all-electric machine and traditional hydraulic
machine during high speed operation. The noise
will be even lower by using gear pump or screw
pump.
- For low
speed efficiency, ASR servo system performs
best under low pressure and low speed comparing
to all-electric machine.
- Diagram D represents the
comparisons of electricity
consumption and energy differentiation
between traditional hydraulic machine with fixed
pump/variable displacement pump and AST servo
system. In order to make a smart decision when
choosing a injection machine, one must think
carefully to choose a machine that costs less
but performs better.

Servo system has two
types of controlling: permanent magnetic
type and induction type. The permanent magnetic
type performs better in low speed torque,
better start, stop response and energy efficiency
(ASR servo system response time is less
than 100ms, ASE is between 120-140ms, and
induction type is over 500 ms). Servo system
has options of complete set of permanent
magnetic servo motor, controlling unit,
and pump unit imported, or combined together
with induction type system, or customer
selection of motor, pump, and controlling
unit. Prince of course, varies based on
the quality level of selection. |
|
|
Servo system has
three primary pump selections: piston
pump, gear pump, and screw pump. Comparing
the volume efficiency, piston pump has
the best efficiency (> 96%). The next
is the gear pump with 85% or above, then
the screw pump with 80% or above. One
with higher volume efficiency saves more
energy, however, comparing the operation
noise will have a backward sequence: screw
pump < gear pump < piston pump.

|
|
Servo system uses
less hydraulic oil and cooling water since
the oil temperature is low. Also because
of the low oil temperature, it has longer
oil seal life, machine lift, and better
stability. |
